Common issues with the Shopify Performance Dashboard and how to solve them

Updated over a week ago

In this guide, we cover some of the most common problems you might face while dealing with our Shopify Performance Dashboard and how to resolve them.

No data displayed on the Dashboard

If you're not seeing any data or mostly zeros on your dashboard, it could be due to the following reasons:

1. Fit Quiz has not been launched on a live theme

If Fit Quiz is not integrated on, missing, or hidden from your "live" theme, no tracking will be collected, and therefore no data will be displayed on the Dashboard.

You can check the status of Fit Quiz in a few different ways depending on your Shopify theme settings:

  • via the "Integration" tab in the Fit Quiz app – it should indicate if Fit Quiz is integrated with your selected theme.

  • via theme editor – open any product page template and check whether Fit Quiz is added to the "Apps" section and isn't hidden.

  • via theme code – in case Fit Quiz is integrated via a liquid file, you should be able to find it by searching for "easysize" in your theme code

If you need help integrating or checking the status, feel free to reach out to our support team.

2. You have just launched Fit Quiz

All metrics on the dashboard are updated every 48 hours to ensure you have the most recent data. So be patient and check the Dashboard again after some time passed.

If it's been more than 48 hours and you're still not seeing the metrics, please contact us.

3. Incorrect tracking implementation

This typically refers to issues with add-to-cart, sales, and returns tracking. In some cases, especially if your product page, add-to-cart buttons, or checkout uses custom elements, some of the tracked events might be missing or require manual review.

We have seen a fair share of custom themes and are equipped to resolve these issues, so don't hesitate to reach out.

Data doesn't make sense or looks odd

If some of the metrics look strange, don't match your Shopify metrics, or seem too high or low, it could be caused by one of the following.

1. Incorrect tracking implementation

As stated above, this could be due to custom attributes on a product page or related to the add-to-cart button. Our team can assist in resolving these issues.

2. Differences in tracking methodologies

While we try to follow Shopify's guidelines on tracking, there might be a difference in tracking methodologies leading to a mismatch between Fit Quiz's Dashboard and the figures you see on your Shopify admin.

  • time difference – all our metrics are updated daily in a span of 6 hours starting at midnight (GMT)

  • naming conventions – Shopify typically presents metrics based on unique users, whereas many of our metrics are calculated on a pageview basis. This discrepancy can sometimes result in similarly named metrics displaying different figures. To maintain transparency, we always display the actual numbers, allowing you to cross-check and verify them with your raw Shopify data.

3. Split into supported and not supported metrics

While Shopify typically shows data for all products, Fit Quiz only calculates the key metrics for products that are integrated and configured with the tool.

Some metrics, like "Purchases," are broken down into segments for added context - these can include Non-supported and Non-integrated Products. You can select these segments for more detailed information and to cross-check with your Shopify data.

You can find products missing Fit Quiz configuration in the "Mapping" tab within the app.

Some metrics are not visible on the Dashboard

Some metrics are only enabled for select shops, typically due to them subscribing to our Pro and Premium plans. Examples include Purchases, Sales conversion, and Returns.

Currently, shops can’t enable these metrics on their own on the Performance dashboard. This is done by our data team, usually sometime after Fit Quiz is launched on a "live" theme and upon confirmation that all necessary tracking is functioning correctly. This means that you may not be able to see the metrics on your Dashboard immediately – but don't worry, we will share monthly reports containing all these metrics in a PDF format until they're enabled.
