Integrating Fit Quiz with your Shopify store: a step-by-step guide

Learn about the key integration steps to get Fit Quiz integrated and customised for your Shopify brand

Updated over 3 months ago

Integrating Fit Quiz with your Shopify store is a straightforward process that can be done in a few simple steps and, usually, with little to no technical assistance. This guide will walk you through the process step by step and link additional articles for further details.

Getting Started

Fit Quiz is publicly available in the Shopify App Store. To begin, open its listing page in the App Store and click "Install". This will take you to the onboarding flow where you can customize and configure Fit Quiz to your liking.

You can follow the onboarding process, see remaining steps and quickly navigate to a selected step directly from the Dashboard and our Setup guide.

Step 1. Genders

Specify the genders for which you sell items. You can select between male, female, unisex, or a mix of gendered and unisex.

Fit Quiz has different user flows for each of these, so this setting allows Fit Quiz to select the correct version for any given product.

Learn how to set up gender settings and advanced unisex options here.

Step 2. Categories

Select the categories that your store currently offers. Fit Quiz works with a variety of categories, from basics and sportswear to shoes and swimwear/underwear. Selected categories will be used at later stages of configuring Fit Quiz, so make sure to select all of them.

Step 3. Size models

"Size models" are a unique feature of Fit Quiz and is one of the most crucial steps in the onboarding process, as it is used by the Fit Quiz algorithm to recommend the correct size.

Our Fit Quiz algorithm is designed in a way that eliminates the need for size charts or garment measurements. Instead, it determines the unique style, size, and fitting factors of your items by analyzing your existing order and returns data from Shopify, as well as your direct input through "Size models".

Size models are a special setting in the Fit Quiz that indicates if selected items have a specific fit. This could be an oversized item or an item that runs slightly smaller. You can choose one of our default size models, like "true to size" or "half size up", or create your own.

Learn more about size models and how to configure them here.

Step 4. Product Mapping

Fit Quiz works directly with your product catalog on Shopify and displays all your products (active, draft, and archived) here in the "Product Mapping" table.

At this step, you'll need to add a correct category and a size model to your products. This will enable Fit Quiz to be as accurate as possible when interacting with shoppers, asking relevant questions, and making a recommendation.

You can view the configuration status in the "Fit Quiz configured" column and identify products missing a category or model. Using the search bar and Shopify tags, you can easily find relevant products and edit their settings in bulk.

Fit Quiz only appears on configured products, so keeping these settings up-to-date is crucial. Shops with large, frequently updated catalogs could also benefit from the "auto-mapping" feature, which automatically assigns a category and model to new products, eliminating the need for manual input.

Learn how to navigate the "Product Mapping" table and use available shortcuts here.

Step 5. Customization of the Fit Quiz button

Here you can customize the appearance of Fit Quiz to match your website's aesthetic and design.

Options include changing the text of the call-to-action button (in English or other languages) and using custom fonts, colors, or icons.

Learn more about what can be customized and how to do it here.

We designed Fit Quiz to be customizable in many different ways but not all of these options are now available directly in the Shopify app. If you're missing a customization option, please reach out to us.

Step 6. Start a 14-day free trial

When installing Fit Quiz for the first time, you will need to select and subscribe to one of the available plans: Starter, Pro, or Premium. All Shopify plans include a minimum 14-day free trial.

Not sure which plan to choose? See our detailed breakdown of the plans and included features here.

Step 7. Integration

The final step is to select a theme (live or a test theme) to which Fit Quiz will be added. Depending on the type of theme you’re using, this step might vary. We support integration with JSON and liquid themes, as well as popular page builder solutions, like PageFly.

Learn how to add the Fit Quiz app to your live or test theme here.

Once launched, you will be able to see all the key performance metrics on the Fit Quiz Shopify dashboard.

That's it! You've now integrated Fit Quiz with your Shopify store. If you need further assistance with the technical aspects, design customizations, or figuring out how to best configure it, reach out to our support team. We're here to help and will take care of this free of charge.
