Localise Fit Quiz and translate its content to communicate with your shoppers in their language.

Updated over a week ago

We designed Easysize/Fit Quiz to not only look and feel like the rest of your website but also speak the same language. One way we achieve this is through our localisation and multi-language support features. This article explores our various language support options and how you can tailor Fit Quiz to your shop's needs.

To view supported languages and edit translations, start by navigating to the "Settings" page and clicking "Languages" in the "General" block.

Here you can view and edit translations for the call-to-action and the recommendation texts.

New shopper text

The shopper's interaction with the Fit Quiz begins with the call-to-action button (also known as the "CTA button"), usually placed on a product page. The button opens the Fit Quiz widget, so it's crucial that the CTA button not only fits with your overall design but also stands out and attracts shoppers' attention.

Auto-recommendation / Returning shopper text

The auto-recommendation message appears on the product page, replacing the initial call-to-action (CTA) button. It informs the shopper about the recommended size, usually stating, "We recommend size XX."

This message appears in two instances:

  • Right after a recommendation is generated in the Fit Quiz widget

  • When a shopper checks other products and receives an automated size recommendation

Supported languages

Fit Quiz currently supports 14 languages, including:

  • English

  • Dutch

  • French

  • Danish

  • German

  • Italian

  • Polish

  • Arabic

  • Spanish

  • Hebrew (modern)

  • Turkish

  • Japanese

  • Korean

  • Norwegian

Our translations are carefully crafted by native speakers and tested across hundreds of shops to ensure that everything is grammatically and contextually correct.

Editing the translations

Both, the new and returning shopper texts can be customized for each language available on your website.

Start by finding a language, you'd like to edit, among the supported languages, and clicking on it.

In the popup you can view the current default translations and update the text.

You can always reset the translation to the initial default version by clicking the "Reset to default" link.

For the returning shopper text: please keep {s}, as it will be automatically replaced by the recommended size. For example: "we recommend {s}" will become "we recommend EU 40" when the recommendation (EU 40) is made.

Once saved, the updated version will be used and the "Edited" label will appear next to the selected language.

Adding new languages

In addition to the languages, that are already supported, new languages can be added upon request in a matter of hours.

You just need to contact us, share the languages you want to add, and we'll provide you access to our internal translation admin. There, you can input your translations, and the changes are implemented right away.

There's no limit to the number of languages you can add, and this feature is available across all our plans and at no additional cost.

Editing widget translations

While we strive to provide accurate translations, we understand that there may be instances where adjustments are needed.

If you spot incorrect translations or want to adjust them to better fit your brand's tone and style, you can do so – just reach out to us with the corrections, and we'll adjust them in our global translation database.

Similar to with adding new languages, editing existing translations is available across all our plans and at no additional cost.

Automatic multi-language support

If you're a retailer with a website in multiple languages, Fit Quiz can now automatically detect the selected language on the website and adapt to that language.

This automatic multi-language support feature is available on all our plans. The language settings are sourced directly from your shop's HTML settings. Usually this appear as: html class="js" lang"en". You can view this by using developer tools in a browser and searching for the lang attribute. Here's an example of how this might look like:

Multi-language support enables all the key elements of Fit Quiz, including the call-to-action button on a product page, questions and answers in the Fit Quiz widget, and messages about the recommended size, to be displayed in the selected language.

While the process is typically automated, there may be instances where it requires a slight adjustment from our technical team. We encourage you to reach out for assistance if you need help or have any doubts.
